Supervision of well abandonments

Supervision of well abandonments
The IAT team, which brings together over 20 specialists and experts in the oil field, has successfully completed the supervision of the abandonment of over 2,000 oil and gas wells, starting in 2010.

Oil and gas well operators are required to perform well abandonment operations for periods of time specific to each state. These high-risk operations require supervision by highly experienced specialists or experts, who ensure that all requirements of the abandonment programs approved by the competent authorities in each state are met. In the case of Romania, supervisors of the abandonment operations of inactive oil and gas wells are specialists or experts certified by the National Regulatory Authority for Mining, Petroleum and Geological Storage of Carbon Dioxide (ANRMPSG).
